The Staff at Hi-Hills are a mature and caring group of people dedicated to the nurturing of our children. The majority of our staff are teachers and college students with a supporting staff of high school students over the age of 16. Many of our staff are former campers helping to carry on the traditions of our camp. This mixture of individuals provides a balance of enthusiasm, understanding and exceptional care. Mike Metelsky - Camp Director
Mike is an experienced teacher, parent and camp person. Mike began with Hi-Hills as the Nature Director in 1983 and had served as Assistant Director until taking over the running of the camp in 2002. He is also a teacher at Seton Hall Prep School where he has taught Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science and Robotics. At school Mike is involved in the Ski/Snowboard Club and the Adventure Club. His club travels have led him to such exotic locations as Belize, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica and the Italian Alps. Mike enjoys outdoor sports, especially rock climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking. He has been a life-long resident of New Jersey, is a proud Rutgers alumnus and an even prouder parent of 3 grown daughters.
